An independent Bosnia as it is being offered by veiled Islamic fundamentalism is not acceptable to the Serbs of Bosnia. It would be equal to the empire of the Ottomans, which remains in our memory.

The Serb nation must not, within the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, fall under the domination of the majority nation, that is, the Muslim national community.

Alija Izetbegović envisages a new Bosnian pashaluk in the form of a sovereign and independent Bosnia, and himself a modern vizier. He wants to establish the border framework of Bosnia through sovereignty and transform them into an Islamic state.

Now our Serb people are in a situation where they could once again be imprisoned and, after that, perhaps destroyed, converted to Catholicism or Turkified, or at the very least deprived of their rights and turned into a national minority.

We have no need to beg Muslims, Croats, Europe, the East, or the West to give us something which is already ours, which we already have, which God has given to us through our forefathers.

We must maintain strong links with peoples who share our people’s fate. These are Jews, Armenians, and Coptic Christians. God has helped us by putting a Coptic Christian at the top of the UN (Boutros-Ghali) and perhaps he will help us through his understanding of our problems.
