🧵 I have survived hell on earth. I have survived Vilina Vlas. Hundreds of Bosniak women have not and will not survive it, so I must speak out.

Vilina Vlas is a rape camp. The women who are taken there are being tortured and killed.

I don’t know how long I was in there. Maybe a few weeks, maybe days, maybe even a month.

They tied me to a bed. Food was thrown to me and I ate from the floor, like a dog.

They used to come all the time. I didn’t know if it was day or night. At some point, I stopped counting how many men came.

Then they started cutting my body. Everywhere. There were other women in the room but we didn’t even dare to look at each other.

I have survived hell on earth. So many of my sisters will not make it out alive. But I will make sure our story is heard. The world will know that in 1992, Serb forces committed genocidal rape against Bosniak women in Vilina Vlas. #NismoTražile

My former neighbour Nurija and I are heading to a refuge shelter in the forest. It’ll be safer for us to spend the summer here.
