23 residents were slaughtered on the spot here. Those who were fortunate enough to survive were expelled: women and children were transported to Serbia, and the men were taken away to prison.

In order to cover their crimes, the Chetniks burned their victims together with their homes. In one day alone on the bridge which connects Skelani with Bajina Bašta, 17 residents were killed and thrown into the Drina.
