🧵 The victory in Kravica has opened up a channel to Konjević Polje. From there it’s possible to reach Zvornik Municipality, where our fighters controll the village of Kamenica. This is not far from Ceparde, and a few kilometres beyond Ceparde is Tuzla.

Tuzla! Tuzla! Tuzla occupies our thoughts night and day. I think the only thing left for us to do is hike the seventy or eighty kilometres from Srebrenica to Tuzla, across ice and snow, without appropriate footwear and with little food.

Parents don’t agree with me. Dad says, “Hasko, it’s better to stay where we are. We are much safer here, at least for the time being. I’ve just heard on the radio that the UN is is negotiations to send a large food convoy to Srebrenica. They say some British Special Forces will be escorting it.”

🧵 For once Srebrenica and not Sarajevo is on the news. They repeat the claim, which Dad has already heard, that the UN is considering sending a special forces unit of the British Army, nicknamed the Desert Rats, to Bosnia to prevent Serb forces from interfering w/ aid convoys…

…en route to Srebrenica. The voice on the radio says that the British are permitted to use force if necessary to deliver food to the starving population. I can’t express how happy this makes us.

It’s the first time we’re hearing that the world is considering using force if necessary to deliver food to us.
