🧵 The RS has been created, which according to the proposal of the international community must be legalised and must take the territory of half of today’s BiH.

The Contact Plan’s proposal, although it contains many solutions which may not be satisfactory for the people of the RS, is not anti-Serb because the proposal to give the RS half of the territory and half to the Muslim-Croat federation can’t be qualified as anti-Serb.

President Milošević has supported accepting the peace plan through his own cooperation with the international community. Their proposal all in all is not fair for the Serbs, who have had war imposed upon them…

…and has always supported the integrity of lands. But undoubtedly compromise is needed.

🧵 Our response to the open letter on the Contact Group’s peace plan, addressed to us by @assemblysrpska.

We are pleased that you have finally expressed readiness to accept the peace plan, but it surprises and concerns us that you are bringing up once again two questions, which have been clarified.

The issue of “unavoidable changes to the map” is, according to the peace plan, absolutely possible and even desirable in negotiations with the other side. This is therefore like a confirmation of the necessity to accept the plan, because only by accepting the plan…

…will a longer duration of the peace process be facilitated, and thus negotiations on the unavoidable changes to the map.

The issue of the integrity and sovereignty of the RS has also been clarified because you have been offered international guarantees for your borders with the Croat-Muslim federation in front of the whole world.

Russia has given you public guarantees regarding both issues, that’s why the government of the Republic of Serbia believes there is no sense in the 11 million citizens of Yugoslavia waiting any longer for the lifting of sanctions while you clarify things to yourselves which…
