We had food to eat when the convoys arrived, when we received food packets. They were good. But they did not come regularly.

Sometimes it was every 15 days. Sometimes we waited for months. It wasn’t a problem that the food was monotonous, that it was a little, that the meat was only ever preserved.

Clothes arrived in Srebrenica, and shoes. The municipal authorities did not distribute everything equally. Given what they do, officials, I know that they need to have nice clothes. But I don’t agree that they should have been receiving three lots of clothes, and I not one.

They also received some fur coats, boots, everything… I know that it’s hard, but that is not a just government. There were also cases of them guarding their friends’ three-storey house. No one dares to enter, and meanwhile there are people on the streets.

I used to pay 60 marks for a kilo of salt. Oil was 12 marks a kilo. Sugar around 15. There are few people who can buy them.

The best was when we would receive those cardboard boxes (family packets) in which there was everything we needed. The parents of fallen fighters would receive the best aid. But the worst thing was that the authorities would give the most to themselves.
