A patrol of the 28th division of the Armija BiH has spotted unusual movements on Veliki Žep, a mountain close to the Žepa enclave. There are 6 BMP-80 APCs, equipped w/ Maljutka rocket launchers + anti-aircraft guns. They belong to the guard regiment of the Republika Srpska army.

Both the 28th Division and the Second Corps of the Armija BiH are reporting that the Serbs are making serious preparations for an attack on Srebrenica.

As UN force commander for Yugoslavia, my message to UN troops currently stationed in the enclaves of eastern Bosnia is. Without lighting rods let us be pragmatic and above all honest, especially towards those who security we hold in our hands: without lightning rods, stay out of the storm.

The intensifying shelling of our schools means we are struggling to complete this school year.

🧵 Today I came across a report in the office of the UN Military Observers that has alarmed me beyond words.

It had been written by one of their patrols on its journey between Srebrenica and Sarajevo. The report mentions buses, soldiers, artillery, trucks with ammunition, multiple rocket launchers and several SAM-3 anti-aircraft systems being deployed near Srebrenica.

I’ve written down the information and am handing it to a contact in the Command of the 28th Division of the Armija BiH.
