It’s 3:30 a.m. and we’ve woken up to resume our trek to the UN base in Potočari. We’ve been sleeping by the water, near the bridge.

Day two on this hellish march towards Tuzla. I’m sleep-deprived and hungry.

I’ve lost contact with my dad and with my brother, Husein. I can’t find them. They’re not next to me. I had to keep pushing forward so that I wouldn’t be killed by Serb gunfire and shelling. Babo, Huso, please message me if you’re ok.

Bosnian Serb soldiers have entered Potočari and surrounded the refugees trapped inside. They’re demanding to check the camp over, in order to make sure there are no Bosnian Army soldiers inside (there aren’t any).

UPDATE: Dutch UN troops guarding the building have laid down their weapons and are waving the (armed) Serb soldiers into the camp. I repeat @unproforbih are letting armed soldiers enter their base filled with civilians, including children.

I’ve just had to run through a small field while being fired at by Serb forces. As I was running, bullets were smacking into tree trunks all around me. I started to take off my clothes because I felt that they were a burden on me. Don’t know how I survived that.

I can’t believe what I’m witnessing. Serb soldiers are being allowed to terrorise civilians in the camp, under the pretence of searching for Bosnian Army troops. Women are screaming, some have fainted, and children are crying.

I know people from Srebrenica have fled to the @unproforbih Potočari base for safety. Can anyone tell me if my dad is there? Please DM me if you’ve seen him. There’s no way of me reaching him from where I am.

Please, everyone who is at the UN base in Potočari, do not panic. When you see Serb soldiers approaching, stay calm, and do not group together.
