It seemed as if the people are happy and outdoors in the streets, as if they’re celebrating the UN declaration. People believe this is it; the war is over. With whomever I talk to, they say the situation will be good if it remains as it is; it’ll be good as long as there is no more killing.

Today I gave birth to a beautiful baby who looks just like their father.

🧵 My husband and I are noticing movements among Serb forces in the near distance. We live in an apartment on the fourth floor and we can see the Pribićevac area, which is under Serb control.

We have binoculars and we can see something going on there. A larger part of a nearby forest has been cleared. For a period of time we could see men wearing white vests working out. Now the workouts have stopped and there are machines instead.

We think they’re preparing for something. But people in Srebrenica remain relaxed.

My husband, Ekrem (Kendža), has decided to go to the front line to defend Srebrenica. His father and I have begged him not to go in action. We can already tell what’s going to happen. (1/2)

I’ve made him some food. He says: “I have to go, for our children, for all the children. If Serb forces get in, they’re going to slaughter us.’ He’s taken a rifle and his backpack, and left. He didn’t say anything. (2/2)

My husband has been killed on the front line. Srebrenica is falling and my husband is dead.

Am on one of the buses of women and children being deported out of @unproforbih’s base in Potočari. The bus driver is constantly drinking and is drunk. The people on the bus are crying and screaming.

We’ve reached Bratunac. Serbs are standing in the streets singing and clapping. I don’t care anymore about whether or not I survive.
