The Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) has invaded Srebrenica. My neighbour, Mica (we call her Bela), has advised me to place a white sheet out of my balcony, which is what Serb residents have done in other occupied territories. If they think I’m a Serb they won’t kill me. I don’t understand what’s happening. I’m living in a nightmare.

The people in Srebrenica are delighted with Resolution 819. The consensus is that the war is over. People in Srebrenica already seem more relaxed. We can live our lives without the constant fear of being shelled or getting killed.

Srebrenica is still under attack by Serb forces. Despite Resolution 819, we are not safe.

Srebrenica needs food. Serb forces are blocking food convoys from getting to Srebrenica. I know they are doing the same for Goražde

I’m at the Dutch UN base in Potočari. My husband’s cousin has taken our son, Nermin, inside the compound. My husband will also try to get inside if the UN troops let him. Inside is surely safer than being outside, exposed to Serb soldiers.

Serb forces have taken my son, Nermin, away from me. We were (I am still) in @unproforbih’s Potočari base.
