I’m being detained by Milan Lukić and his White Eagles paramilitary unit. With me is @vg14 and others. We’re being held in the lobby of Vilina Vlas. There are Bosniak women here and we can hear them screaming. This place is evil.

We’re being driven away from Vilina Vlas. I’m terrified. Heart is with the women still trapped there.

Milan Lukić and his troops have driven us to the Drina River, near Sase village. I think we’re about to be killed.

@vg14 and I have just survived a mass killing. I’m not in a state to explain what’s happened. But I will when I can because the world must know.

🧵 Serb paramilitaries are driving Bosniak men to the Drina to be shot. I’ve just survived such a mass shooting. A thread.

Milan Lukić lined us up along the river. His troops were all carrying weapons such as automatic rifles.

I was walking towards the river. I tried to move to the left side of that group because my brother-in-law was on the extreme left. I knew what was coming so I wanted to get as close to him as possible in order to say goodbye.

I didn’t manage to get to him. I was pushed back into line before I reached him. We never got to say goodbye. He’s dead in the Drina.

I walked very, very slowly. Like any person in this world who’s aware that they’re their last ten metres in their life, it was slow. Very slow.

My fellow prisoners started pleading with the Serb troops. Meho on my right pleaded with Mitar Vasiljević: “Mitar, please don’t.” Then I heard my brother-in-law pleading: “Please don’t kill us. What are we to blame for?”.
