We’re walking to stay with another aunt of mine. The trek will be 15km. God give us strength.

Arrived at my aunt’s village. There are so many refugees here from Bratunac. They are sleeping outside the houses because there are no more rooms left for them. This is a humanitarian disaster.

My family has made a request to the ruling Serb authorities to allow us to leave Srebrenica. We can’t survive here.

I’m leaving Srebrenica with my children, for my family’s village of Mihajlevići. I’m leaving behind my beloved husband, Salem. I must believe that we will see each other again soon, otherwise I will go insane.

Pleased to report that with the arrival of paramilitary organisations to the Zvornik municipality, particularly the arrival of Arkan and his people, this territory has now been liberated from the Turks. Turks made up 60% of the municipality’s population and it has now been cleansed and replaced with an ethnically pure Serb population.

Every evening about ten in the village of us gather around the TV. I’m horrified by what I’m seeing. The number of dead in besieged Sarajevo keeps rising and yesterday I saw Serb forces entering Srebrenica.

Family and I have been “granted” deportation out of Srebrenica by Serb and JNA occupying forces. We’re on our way to be deported by bus.

The Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) has invaded Srebrenica. My neighbour, Mica (we call her Bela), has advised me to place a white sheet out of my balcony, which is what Serb residents have done in other occupied territories. If they think I’m a Serb they won’t kill me. I don’t understand what’s happening. I’m living in a nightmare.
