Dad wanted to get off at Biljača, which is halfway between Sase and Bjelovac. Serb forces let us go. That’s it. We’ve been officially deported out of Srebrenica. This is a crime against humanity. Where is the world’s reaction?

My village of Mješaja in Foča (SE Bosnia) is burning. Family and I have fled into the woods. We know that Bosniaks in other villages have been burned alive. If someone told me on my 16th birthday that this was what awaited me I would never have believed them…

Villages around Srebrenica are under attack. Mum woke me up this morning with the news that Zakrajnica and Pomol are on fire. We’re sat on a hill and can see 7-8 houses on fire in the hamlet of Zakrajnica. I can’t believe my eyes. I’m terrified.

Dad has decided that we should go to Srebrenica. We heard on the radio that it’s the only free territory in Eastern Bosnia.

🧵 Oh my God. I’ve just seen my (Serb) neighbour Šarac hand over an automatic rifle to his son-in-law. He was yelling, “Here’s this, my son-in-law, and however many more you need”.

He knew I could hear and see the whole thing. He opened the trunk of his car and I kid you not it was full of ammunition. Why are my Serb neighbours arming themselves? What’s happening?

Defending Osmače village (Srebrenica) is a nightmare but we’re staving off Serb forces for now. About 500-600 shells have been fired onto Osmače today. We’ve never seen such weapons before. This feels like an apocalypse. But we march on.

My Jakub has been killed by Serb forces. They took him from me and now he’s dead. He did nothing wrong. He wasn’t in the army. My baby has been killed. Sine moj, voli te tvoja Mama…

🧵 Arkan’s men have taken my son, Jakub. They came knocking on my door today. They were led by a Serb boy who plays with my son. I was in shock when I saw him in uniform and carrying a rifle. He’s just a boy.
