About fifteen Bosniaks from three or four families have gathered at my dad’s nephew’s place. We all agree that in the event of an attack, our chances of survival are better if we stick together.

Today I left Srebrenica. I said goodbye to my father and my heart is broken. When we parted at the bridge he hugged me and told me not to worry. He said we’ll talk on the phone. But the expression on his face told me he wanted to leave. I’m on my way to free Tuzla. Today I left Srebrenica and my heart is broken.

Today I witnessed a Serb attack on Zvornik. Many civilians have been killed. The town was taken within 24 hours. The Serbian flag has been hoisted on top of the main mosque.

It doesn’t take Einstein to see that Serb forces are invading settlements along the Drina River. The question is, which settlement is next. Will it be ours (Zvornik), or Bratunac?

Serbs in Bratunac have established their own police force, under the insignia of the so-called “Bosnian-Serb Republic”. Serb forces have set up barricades around the town. Two coffee bars, one owned by Muslims and the other by Croats, have been blown up.

During my visit to Zvornik I was alarmed to see lorries full of corpses. Soldiers were dumping dead women, children and the elderly onto lorries. I saw four or five lorries filled with corpses. On one bend in the road, my jeep skidded on the blood. I call on the international community to act.

Today I saw Arkan’s men looting houses in Zvornik. They piled dozens of dead bodies, including those of children, onto trucks. More dead bodies lay in the streets and outside houses. Many Muslims have fled to the nearby deserted village of Kula Grad.

Today I tried to help Bosniaks who remain trapped in Zvornik after the Serb invasion. I saw a group of thousands of Muslims who had sought refuge in a nearby valley. Among them were wounded persons, as well as dead bodies. (1/2)

I organised a convoy of vehicles to take the displaced people somewhere safe. But when I returned to the valley they had already moved on. I believe they have headed towards free Tuzla. (2/2)
